Misa IS dumb but her hair color has nothing to do with it.

This has been in my ask box for a while now (like months) and I finally compiled most of my Misa Amane defense information. See, Misa is a crafty individual who’s fallen prey to a sexist writer but that doesn’t mean we should undervalue her. Plus, she’s not dumb so suck it.

Here’s a few of the basics (courtesy of this post)

Misa Amane:

  • Tracks down Kira before anyone else does
  • Uses Shinigami Eyes to help Light
  • Uses cuteness to deceive people
  • Refuses to confess anything about Kira even under torture
  • Tricks Higuchi into admitting he’s Kira

Adding on to the first point, there was one person who managed to not only find out that Kira was Light, but also managed to trick him into revealing his identity without revealing hers. And who was that? Misa Amane.

Misa also has a very strong personality. For example, when Light tells her he will have to see other girls, she doesn’t hesitate to announce that she will kill all of them if he does that. Misa’s far colder than Light because she doesn’t care about innocent people getting murdered as shown when she was trying to get Light’s attention for the first time. Misa could have definitely become a waay more dangerous first Kira than Light, even without his high intelligence.

She had a completely loyal Shinigami (Rem) who would do anything to protect her and more willing to kill anyone who posed a threat to Kira’s “perfect world”. Side note, Misa did not seduce Rem into loving her - Rem fell for Misa by her own will. I believe Rem truly felt romantic love for Misa and not maternal at all.

Misa survived a tragedy (the murder of her family by a robber) and still managed to land a successful modeling and acting career! She was a pop idol and an absolute sweetheart to her fans.

On top of that, Misa was strapped up and basically tortured by L (no human contact and without water) but refused to speak a word and put on a rather catatonic appearance and relinquishes her memories of the Death Note by speaking two words: “Kill me”.

She stays another month and a few weeks locked up without her memories. In that time span without her memories, she doesn’t cry or beg. She starts negotiating her freedom with L, calls him a pervert, and pretends to be super bored - putting on a huge brave face while crybaby Light without his memories at this time is begging L to believe that he’s not Kira and just being annoying in general (how the tables have turned fandom).

Just because Misa’s over-the-top in love with Light (who wouldn’t be - he’s a gorgeous psychopath) and can get a bit annoying at times does not by any means make her a weak or unnecessary character. Light couldn’t have done half the shit he did as Kira without Misa’s help.

There’s two types of anger one is dry and the other wet and basically wet anger is when your eyes water and your voice shakes and I hate that cause I feel weak when I’m crying while angry I like dry anger when your face is like stone and your voice is sharp I guess wet anger shows that you care too much and dry anger means you’re done.

This is the best description ever

peter capaldi is a blessing on this world

Oh god I was so worried about this too

The more he talks about this upcoming season and the stuff he won’t put up with, the more I’m starting to believe he killed Steven Moffat and keeps telling everyone he’s on vacation while writing all his episodes himself.

that is brilliant news what are you talking about

So in English class we had to draw a scene from The Great Gatsby. After the drawings were done the teacher was showing them to the class, and one drawing was a pic of Gatsby reaching towards at the green light, but in the drawing Gatsby didn’t have hands. So my teacher starts saying something like how this picture has hidden meaning and portrays the helplessness Gatsby feels, and the kid next to me just casually says “I can’t draw hands.”
